I arrived last night. It is a small town with a college. Headed down the road this morning. The Wabash Trace trail ended in Blanchard, back on roads now

Shenandoah Iowa

It was a nice shaded trail today. The Wabash Trace Trail is an old rail to trail conversion.

Out of Nebraska!

A short stay in Council Bluffs Iowa and then moving on to the Wabash Trace trail.

Blair Nebraska

I stayed an extra day in Blair and am off this morning. It was nice to take a day off after the grit/crushed gravel roads. I spent the day checking out the town and speaking with the locals.

Small town just above Omaha. Not sure about the wild kingdom part.

Norfolk Nebraska today!

Only a 75 mile ride, but that was long enough. Norfolk is in eastern Nebraska. I think I am growing weary of the grasslands, corn fields etc.

If not hot, then wind

50 miles today to O’Neill Nebraska, super windy. Now outside it is raining sideways, could make for an interesting morning.

I feel like I have seen all the grasslands I need to see, really feel like I have probably had enough. Not sure what the next state will bring. I will let you know when I find it. Here is a photo of the wind messing with my sun hat!

Wow! 104 degrees Hot Hot Hot

Left Valentine super early in the cool of the morning. After 65 miles ended up in Bassett on the Cowboy Trail. The cowboy trail is an old rail line. We will be on it again tomorrow.

Valentine Nebraska

We arrived yesterday. 91 miles from Gordon Nebraska. Today was a rest day. There is a rail trail here called the Cowboy Trail we will be riding on it tomorrow hopefully as far as Bassett about 60 + miles away. It is very hot here, just over 100 degrees!

Gordon Nebraska

I think we pedaled about 71 miles today. Nice easy pedaling. Hoping for similar tomorrow. Tons of grasslands. They just go on forever

Nebraska today!

It was a nice ride, pretty cool temperatures. Nebraska has a ton of penstemon growing on the side of the road. We past through an area with pine trees etc, it is very scenic. We are in the town of Crawford

Lusk Wyoming

Today we rode to Lusk! More downhill today it was nice to coast. Tomorrow we are headed for Nebraska. It seems the scenery now is grasses and more grasses. Windmills too!

Douglas Wyoming

Another day of pedaling. The fun never ends.

Yep, the insanity continues

120 miles yesterday. Nothing else made sense other than to go from Riverton Wyoming to Casper Wyoming. Now a rest day. Tomorrow off to Douglas Wyoming, only about 50 odd miles away. It will seem like a stumble in the park. I have some thoughts about the trip so far but will post more later today.

Riverton Wyoming today.

We rode from Dubois to Riverton today, long ride but we survived. Tomorrow is an adventure, not sure where we will end up. Headed towards Casper. Today’s ride was uneventful, just long. The terrain and vegetation are not as varied as days gone by.

The motel is the black bear. We crossed the continental divide today, that is the high elevation of the trip
